At the age of 17 years old, John signed his first professional contract at Motherwell Football Club, Scotland. After 3 successful years at Motherwell F.C, he took his footballing ambitions across the pond to USA to pursue a ‘Soccer’ scholarship.
John attended Long Island University, Brooklyn, New York, for two years. He was competing at a competitive collegiate level as well as studying for his Bachelor Degree in Media Arts. After two stand out years at LIU, John transferred universities, where he spent his final two years at The University of Nevada, Las Vegas. John competed in every game at UNLV over his two-year period as well as earn personal accolades on the pitch. John graduated from The University of Nevada, Las Vegas with his Bachelor of Arts Degree before returning home Scotland.
During John’s time in America, he spent three years playing in the Premier Development League (PDL), a soccer league which is offered to collegiate athletes to participate in over a three-month summer period. John was a standout performer for each of his respective teams; Palm Beach Puma’s (Florida), St Louis Lions (Missouri) and El Paso Patriots (Texas).
On his return to Scotland, John signed a professional contract, with then 2nd Division team, Stirling Albion Football Club, where he appeared in every game over a successful season for the club.
John has been involved in the recruitment and placement of athletes on sports scholarships since his return from USA. His wealth of experience and passion for sports has driven him to offer talented athletes the opportunity he was given, and live the American Dream!!
